Proverbs With Purpose For Young People- Proverb 10:12

Here's a practical example to understand-

Proverb 10:12

Hatred stirs up strife,

But love covers and overwhelms all transgressions [forgiving and overlooking another’s faults].

Proverbs 10:12 provides valuable wisdom about the power of love and the destructive nature of hatred. Let’s break it down:

Hatred Stirs Up Strife: Imagine two friends who used to get along well. One day, they have an argument over a computer they both want to use at the same time. Instead of talking calmly and finding a solution, they start yelling at each other. Their anger and hatred stir up strife, creating tension and making the situation worse.

Love Covers and Overwhelms Transgressions: Now consider another scenario. The two friends have a disagreement, but instead of arguing and then holding grudges, they choose love. One friend apologizes, and the other forgives. They decide to focus on their friendship rather than the current argument, which allows them to work at a solution. Love covers the hurt feelings and helps them move forward.

Example:

Tara accidentally spills juice on Lily’s favorite book. Instead of getting angry, Lily smiles and says, “It’s okay, Tara. I know it was an accident. Let’s clean it up together.” Lily’s love covers the mistake, and their friendship remains strong.

Remember, love is powerful. It can heal wounds, mend relationships, and make the world a better place.

We can choose to apply love in any situation, even with people who are angry and difficult to be around, which can help change their attitude or behavior for the better. So use wisdom and choose love over hatred!
